When we pursue the righteousness and moral purity called for by the gospel and proclaim that Jesus is the only way to the Father, the irreligious will persecute us and call us self-righteous or narrow-minded. We will be too conservative for the liberals, and we will be too liberal for the conservatives. Love is the language of God’s kingdom. Jesus is the rabbi who teaches us how to live his Father’s language, and the Spirit empowers us to be living letters that shout from the rooftops, “How great is our God!”. Today marks the last excerpt from Dr. Derwin Gray’s book “The Good Life.” Beginning next week, when I have time to sit down an compose a post, I will be sharing Dr. Gray’s mighty words of wisdom from his new book, “How to Heal Our Racial Divide.” I will be attempting to read a chapter a week through June and July. It is a great book, and a very important book, highlighting one of America’s original sins of racism that still plagues this country. But the racial divide is just one way the enemy has sought to keep us from reaching our true potential. Look at what the devil has done to us with every mass shooting that is rocking 2022. Instead of coming together to defeat evil, each side of this foolish gun debate is picking up their arms or picking up their picket signs. My friends at The Holy Post had a very powerful conversation about America’s stance on gun control, and how baffling it is that Christians, a religion that should be rooted in peace and love, is so fierce about allowing everyone in America to have as many guns in their hands as possible.
