Common Sense REBORN Devotional

July 3

20Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous,

no one who does what is right and never sins.  (Ecclesiastes 7:20)

Happy Saturday friends!  We are nearing the end of the Book of Ecclesiastes, a very interesting book written by the wise King Solomon.  This book is not packed full of the insightful wisdom as the Book of Proverbs was, but Ecclesiastes is full of memorable verses.  The saying “There is nothing new under the sun,” one of my personal favorites, originated from this book.  Of course, Ecclesiastes brought us the most memorable verses about the seasons of life:  A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to sow, etc., etc. (Ecclesiastes 3:2-8).  I chose to highlight the verse above from today’s readings.  Here is an accurate truth about the world we live in, “no one on Earth is righteous,” no, not one.  In fact, in all of history, there has only been one righteous among humanity.  Only one spotless lamb.  For the rest of us, we all fall short of righteousness, which is great news.  We do not need to be perfect, we never will be, God does not expect that from us.  All God wants is for us to spread the Good News of His Son’s perfect love, and love people around us, as best we can.  That’s true freedom.  Freedom that has been available to all mankind for nearly two thousand years.

I want to share with y’all the newest offering from Mr. Danny Gokey, which was the strongest single released yesterday.  This is a powerful ballad from Mr. Gokey, an inspiring song to remind the world, that even if no one else does, Jesus always believes in you. I pray you all have a safe and joyful 4th of July weekend!  Thanks for reading.  God Bless
