Common Sense REBORN Devotional

June 30

8Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,

for the rights of all who are destitute.

9Speak up and judge fairly;

defend the rights of the poor and needy.  (Proverbs 31:8, 9)

Happy Wednesday Friends and Family!  Today is an important day in the year because it marks our halfway point with the close of June.  If you are keeping up with the reading, we’ve read almost ¾ of the Holy Bible.  I know it seems a little disportionate, but that was done on purpose, so we could spend less time reading in the second part of the year, and more time getting out and serving the community (defending the rights of the poor and needy).  We still have one more month of heavy reading.  As we close out the summer, July’s deeper reading plan includes the Book of Isaiah, which is one of the longer books of the Old Testament.

If you are behind, don’t give up, you have plenty of time to finish the Bible in 2021!  I’m working the next few nights so I won’t be back here until July 3.  Have a great second half of the week.  Here’s some sermons y’all gotta listen to when you can.

Transformation Church’s Pastor Charles Metcalf brought a very accurate word of truth this past weekend, and you can listen to it here.  If you only have time to listen to one extra sermon this week, click the image below to hear a powerful, personal sermon from Elevation Church’s guest speaker Lisa Harper.

It was a toss-up for the last song to share for the week, but anytime Sean Curran drops a new single, I gotta bring it to y’all’s attention.  This young man has a truly unique voice, and this is a great new song to turn up and lift your hands to.

Reading plan:  Reflect on Paul’s first three letters.

Deeper reading plan: Proverbs 28, 29, 30, 31
