CSR Daily Devotion

Good Morning Friends! For today and tomorrow, as we bring November to a close, I want to share a song each from two great albums that came out on Friday. Today we’ll start with Maverick City Music who adds the phenomenal talent of Mr. Dante Bow and Mr. Brandon Lake on several of the album’s tracks.

November 29

20But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

22Be merciful to those who doubt; 23save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear-hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.  (Jude 20-23)

These verses seem to be very contradictory.  In 20 and 21, Jude instructs on how to build yourself up and pray in the Holy Spirit.  Keep yourself in God’s love as you wait for the return of Jesus Christ.  The next two verses start off with some good advice:  be merciful to those who doubt; save others from the fire by snatching them away.  But I wish Jude had left out that last part, to others “show mercy, mixed with fear-hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.”  The only way to love like Jesus is to remove all hatred from your heart.  There can not be a hint of hatred or the devil will always have that foothold to edge the door open. Love, love, love, nothing less will win this war.

Reading plan:  Jude 24, 25

Deeper reading plan: Zephaniah 3:1-8

Prayer and meditation:  Today we thank God for His Son.  Without Jesus, this world would be even more lost than it is now.  On this Sunday, spend it in Thanksgiving for the Prince of Peace, the Lord of Grace, and the Perfector of Faith.  Pray for America.  Pray for peace and for love to conquer all.  Pray the revival in your heart overflows to all those around you.

Fitness challenge:  RestWorship:  Spend today in prayer and worship.  Get to church or get to a computer and watch church.  America needs a revival like never before.
