CSR Daily Devotion

Happy Saturday! Well, now that Thanksgiving is over, I am so excited to be just days away from December! Spoiler alert, starting December 1 I’ll be sharing nothing but Christmas songs. So let me know your favorite or all you’re going to get is my top 25 tunes. But for the next three days we’ll finish November out with some of my favorites from this Friday’s release.

I was recently introduce to a new podcast entitled The Holy Post and after listening to Episode 430, I am going to be giving this crew a listen every week. Created by the guy who brought VeggieTales to life, this is a great common sense analysis of current events and true Christianity.

17But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold.  18They said to you, “in the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.”  19These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. (Jude 17-19)

I know several times throughout history, the ungodly have gained prosperity.  During America’s complicated history, ungodliness has mostly ruled, despite our belief we are the “great Christian nation.”  Only in the beginning of this century have we finally started preaching an accurate interpretation of the love of Jesus and the true grace of God.  So, of course, this forced the devil to ramp up his agenda, which we easily saw in 2020.  Ungodliness seemed to be everywhere:  from mistakes constantly being made by law enforcement, to those seeking to utilize the unrest caused by that to undermine society.

This is the result of a generation growing farther and farther from God.  In 2019, The Atlantic ran a pretty interesting piece on the fastest growing religion, coined as the Nons.  Written by an agnostic reporter, the article is an accurate insider look at what is destroying religion in America.  The author makes an important point that history always follows a cycle, revolution followed by counter revolution.  Well, if that’s the case, now is the time more than ever to capitalize on this counter revolution against religion and bring people to know Christ, not some misguided denomination.  When organized religions’ views and attitudes have pushed more people away from believing in God and Jesus, that is the problem.  And because of that, it makes me wonder if these religions have ever read the BIble.  Because if they had, they would realize that the greatest sin God consistently punished the world for was turning away from Him.  So if you are causing more people to turn away from God then come to Him, you need to rethink your methodology.
