I hope y’all are having a great weekend! I wanted to get this out a little earlier today. If you have not had a chance to listen to Pastor Steven Furtick‘s message from last week, I continue to highly recommend. It makes for a great podcast while traveling.
This week’s New Music Christian on Spotify has some great new songs from an array of artists. Most notably is the amount of “hip-hop,” all of which I really enjoyed and I will be sharing later in the week. But for today, here is the new work from Mr. Mack Brock, who is releasing a brand new album on November 20. This is the title track.
19This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 23And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and him in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. (1 John 3:19-24)
I hope when you read the last part of this paragraph it sounded familiar. I have tried to beat it into your head this entire year. God’s commands are clear to John: Believe in Jesus and love one another as Jesus commanded us to. Now remember Jesus taught us to love God and love others as we love ourselves. So you can see here if you follow God’s commands, He directs you to Jesus, and Jesus’ commands direct you back to God, but both instruct you to love everyone else the same. That’s my argument. We can end the year here. This is the essence of Christianity and the main point you need to learn and live by. Love EVERYONE as you love YOURSELF. Period. End of conversation. End of teaching.
But I won’t do that to y’all, because I know how much you are enjoying this experience. We only have six weeks left! Why stop now?!
