CSR Daily Devotion

Good Morning Y’all! It’s a glorious day to praise our King! Get online or get to a church and bask in the warmth of the Holy Spirit.

November 15

4You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.  5They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.  6We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us.  This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.  (1 John 4:4-6)

In the first three verses of 1 John Chapter 4, John speaks of how to recognize the spirit of God verses false spirits.  John says a simple test of whether a spirit is from God or from the devil is to ask them if Jesus is the Son of God.  John seems to think that all evil spirits are truthful and will not be able to admit Jeus is the Son of God.  Well, maybe that was true for when Jesus first walked the Earth, but I have seen many false prophets speak in the Name of Jesus and speak words that are far from the truth.  These false prophets are speaking from the viewpoint of the world.  I recommend doing a simpler test to clarify the origin of the Spirit someone is claiming to be motivated by.  If they do not speak of loving God and all His creations, especially ALL People, they are not speaking from the Holy Spirit.  That’s your litmus test.  Apply it to everyone you meet, everyone you listen to, everyone you invest time in.  And if they aren’t speaking from the Holy Spirit, help them to tap into that endless source.

Reading plan:  1 John 4:19-21

Deeper reading plan:  Micah 7:14-20

Prayer and meditation:  Today we thank God for all those who work in Public Works, who ensure we have clean drinking water, electricity/gas at the flick of a switch, and waste management.  All these amazing workers do an amazing job every single day with no thanks but their paycheck.  They help America continue to march along with no second thought from the majority of us.  Pray for America.  Pray for peace and for love to conquer all.  Pray the revival in your heart overflows to all those around you.

Fitness challenge:  Rest

Worship:  Spend today in prayer and worship.  Get to church or get to a computer and watch church.  America needs a revival like never before.
