I apologize for the emails going out this week. WordPress is not embedding the thumbnail images for each link I am sharing as they usually do. Today, I’m finally getting around to sharing the newest release from the great vocals of Ms. Koryn Hawthorne, who released a full length album on Friday (which I have not listened to entirely, but I will today).
And I am also finally getting around to sharing another, I mean ANOTHER! mind-blowing sermon by Pastor Steven Furtick. This man, this year, he has preached the Word like no one else.
12How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! (Hebrews 9:14)
As I mentioned a few days ago, Jesus was the unblemished final sacrifice for all of mankind. This was God’s plan, His design: remember Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46) where Jesus asked, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Jesus lived a sinless life, yet God chose Him to be sacrificed for you. Now we can focus on serving the living God.
Our problem is our stubbornness. We have this chip on our shoulder that we are not going to serve any one. I advise you to knock that chip off and get on your knees. Bow to the one who created you. God’s only asking you to live a life of servitude for others, to love, to live righteously, to be generous, and to protect all He has created. Stop fighting being a servant, stop trying to do your own thing. For once, just follow the leader, the Good Shepherd who leads you down the path. He will never fail you, He will never forsake you.
Reading plan: Hebrews 9
Deeper reading plan: Ezekiel 47, 48
Prayer and meditation: Pray for our country. Pray for love to conquer all. Pray for God’s wings of protection to cover all the children returning to school. Pray that Christ infects our hearts and ignites a final fire of revival to sweep this land.
