Today I’m sharing one last track from Hope Darst‘s freshman album. This one is my favorite. The Hope of Jesus, which, we desperately need to cling to in this year of turmoil and tragedy. When the Hope of Jesus is all we have, that’s perfect, because it’s all we’ll ever need.

20In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use.  21Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.  (2 Timothy 2:20, 21)

Do you remember playing team sports when you were younger and having two team captains alternate turns in picking their teams?  They always wanted the good players, right?  The players who performed the sport the best would usually be picked first.  Being the last one to be picked was never a good feeling.  Well, God is picking His team.  He wants us to do good works for Him. He wants to use us to better His team.  The difference between when God picks you and the team sports of your youth, the difference is you don’t have to be qualified to be picked, you just have to be willing.  Live your life for Christ and open your heart to Him.  He wants you on His team to recruit others who might not know Him.  He will give you all the skills and equipment that you need.
