CSR Daily Devotion

Here we are at another New Music Friday! A lot of great singles and one big album release today, and I never finished sharing all the amazing music from last week! If you are a fan of hip-hop, or some non-traditional worship music, then you need to give Lecrae‘s new album a listen. I’m sharing one of my favorite tracks from that below.

August 28

22Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.  23Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.  24And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.  25Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26and that they will come to their sense and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.  (2 Timothy 2:22-26)

Be kind to everyone.  Read that again.  Be kind.  To EVERYONE.  Can you imagine how amazing this world would be if everyone was kind to everyone else?  Instead of living in peace we CHOOSE to argue and raise Cain about facemasks and anyone who has different political views and opinions than we do. God made us all different.  He designed us each to His liking and we are wonderfully made.  This means that we all think differently as well.  We are meant to be that way!  Jesus loves us regardless of our opinions so why can’t we love each other the same way?  Let’s make a promise to love better.  Let’s lessen the amount of arguing we do and increase the amount of praising!

Reading plan:  2 TImothy 2:14-26
