CSR Daily Devotion

The song I am sharing today from We The Kingdom’s new album is actually the last track on the record. But I have to share it today, because I told Mrs. Z on the day the album came out, this was my new song to her. When I look into her beautiful green eyes, I see heaven. And today, that special angel I get to call my wife is celebrating a birthday! Wish her a Happy Birthday in the comment section below!

August 13

28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.  (1 Thessalonians 5:28)

Today is another special day on our calendar.  Today is Mrs. Z’s birthday.  While I attest most of my current faith with the arrival of my daughter, all of that would have never happened if this wonderful, beautiful young woman had never been born.  She is the one who saved me when I did not even know I needed saving, and God put her in my life at just the right time.  I wrote about it extensively in my personal testimony, but just to give a quick recap:  I was in the prime of my life, or so I thought. I had just received a significant promotion at the job I had held for the last eight years.  I was about to finally finish meandering my way lost through college and get out into the big world.  I was physically attracted to her from the moment I saw her, this young, green-eyed, auburn hair innocent young lady working in another department from me.  I planned on it just being nothing but a physical relationship, but it was never that.  It was always something more, even when I did not want it to be.  I was not ready to settle down, but I am no fool, and I always knew deep down that I had met someone extremely rare in this world:  a beautiful, wholesome, God-loving woman that has supported me like no other person has ever done before.  Now our relationship has not always been sunshine and rainbows, but we have been together for almost half of her life and about the same for me.  Our love has grown over the years, and that is mostly due to us growing closer to God and being fully aware that God brought us together and made us for one another.  I wish everyone was as lucky as I am and finds their true soulmate.  But to do that, you have to let God lead you, and always keep Christ the center of your life and relationship.  Do that and your love will never fail, it will be eternal just like our afterlife.

Reading plan:  2 Thessalonians 3:1-10

Deeper reading plan:  Jeremiah 25, 26

Prayer and meditation:  Pray for our country.  Pray for love to conquer all.  Pray that Christ infects our hearts and ignites a final fire of revival to sweep this land.Fitness challenge:  Distance run day.  Run as far and as long as you want, but make sure you are out there pounding pavement for at least 30 minutes.
