So yesterday I shared Pastor Steven Furtick‘s passionate word from last week, fully thinking it was one of his best messages of the year. And Pastor Furtick’s has had some good ones this year. God is speaking through this amazing man more than any one else. “Flip the Bag,” “Plot Twist,” “Flex Space,” and last week’s “Unschedulable Blessings,” are life-changing sermons. Just give them a listen and you can hear for yourself. Well, you see, there’s something special about Pastor Furtick, because when you hear the words from his sermons that move you to tears and leave you in disbelief that this pastor could ever top his message again, something special happens. Next week comes, and he does it all over again. This sermon that I am sharing below has to be my favorite to date. God takes a little and turns it into a lot. Take the lid off the little. You may only have a little to give, but that’s all God asks. Let Him be the multiplier.
What’s really crazy is I wrote the devotional below the day before I heard Pastor Furtick’s message. Then I wrote this post before I realized that they would pair so perfectly. There is a living, amazing God in control of our everything. Trust Him, love Him, give Him a little and see what He will do for you.
12May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. 13May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. (1 Thessalonians 3:12-13)
To start this week in August, I pray these two verses over you. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else. May the Lord strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all His holy ones.
The Lord will make your love increase. He will cause it to grow exponentially, but there needs to be some input for the return in growth. The return-on-investment is huge with our God. Put a little love in and God will flip that to a hundred percent ROI. You can always put your trust and faith in God, lean into Him and He will strengthen your heart. Find comfort in holding onto the fact that God will always wrap His arms around you and comfort you throughout your life. You just have to lean into Him, give love out and you’ll see just how great our God is.
