CSR Daily Devotion

I pray a prayer of protection for all those following this blog, that you will stay healthy and your friends and family are protected by God’s Heavenly Hand. Today I share a worship song from one of my favorite artists. This new song is a perfect anthem for the Faith we need to hold for our mighty rescuer and our gracious Father.

March 26

32“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Luke 12:32-34)

Oh little flock, I felt a restored sense of peace in the air yesterday. I pray that it was God whispering that this pandemic ordeal was almost over. By the end of today, over 500,000 cases will have been confirmed worldwide, and if today was anywhere as deadly as yesterday, the lives lost will be quickly approaching 25,000. Those numbers are reaching staggering levels. Never in the history of mankind has the world faced a similar foe together, an enemy that attacks without regard to who you are, where you are from, what your history is. Unlike any disaster in the last fifty years, the entire world is fighting an enemy they cannot see, smell, or touch. They can only feel it when the enemy has already attacked, and then it’s a personal fight for survival with a respiratory infection that has deadly precision. The fear I have, is that even if this goes until Easter, no lasting change will come from all this madness. If we don’t bring the world to know Christ after this mess, than we have let 25,000 lives perish for nothing. If, when this storm has lifted, we just go back to life as normal, all this fear and anxiety was wasted. If we go back to storing up useless treasures in our lives, if we continue to focus on what does not matter, if we allow our time to be devoured by mindless entertainment, if we let the distractions keep us separated from Jesus and God, then we have missed the greatest opportunity to crawl back to our Creator. If this happens, then little flock, then you should be afraid.

Right now the world is focused on saving lives. When COVID has run it’s course, we brave few need to go to work like never before to focus on saving souls. I had made a commitment last year to follow Jesus like never before, but even now I wonder if there is more I can do to bring more to know Jesus. The events unfolding in this world is our chance as Christian warriors to get out and show everyone the love and compassion of the true Christian. Build up your treasures in your eternal life. Let your worldly treasures turn to rust and food for the moths. Save your soul, save the world.

Since January 1, I asked those following this blog to pray for a specific miracle to happen in your life, and we have prayed for it everyday since. If you have not seen your miracle be brought to life, for the next week we are going to ask God to speak life into this prayer and answer your request by the end of this month. Today we are also going to start to pray for another specific miracle. We are going to pray for God to use this pandemic to open the eyes of the world and bring everyone’s focus back to God and allow them to fix their eyes on Jesus. Maudy Thursday will be the day COVID stops spreading and Good Friday will see the first day of recovery. And Easter Sunday will be the day of resurrection for this country. Pray this prayer with me every day.
