3Then Jesus told them this parable: 4“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” (Luke 15:3-7)
The Parable of the Lost Sheep. Simply one of my favorite parables where Jesus describes the love of God, ready to leave the 99 to find the one lost sheep. For much of my life, I struggled with understanding the true meaning of this parable. I could not understand how 1 sinful sheep could cause God more joy and celebration than the ninety-nine sheep that were living righteous lives. I struggled because I was not living a righteous life, I was living a selfish, sinful life, and Jesus had left the 99 and was patiently waiting for me to see Him standing at the top of the hill. I was a stubborn sheep. I did not want to return to the herd for many years. I was having too much fun galavanting around. Or at least, I thought I was having more fun. Inwardly, my soul was bound by my sinful life. It took God putting an unexpected miracle in my life for me to finally realize how much better the 99 have it. And I returned to the herd. I hope there was not a big celebration in Heaven on my account, but I am sure there was, and I finally understood this parable. The 99 already have their reward. They have it everyday living their righteous lives. Their room in that mansion on top of the hill has been prepared for them for many years. The 99 will have eternity to celebrate their greatness here on Earth, but if God loses one, just one of His beloved children, oh how devastating that would be.
We all know at least one lost sheep. 2020 was meant to be a smooth transition into becoming a herder, bringing that one sheep back to the herd. But with current events gripping the world, we all need to do our part to bring that lost sheep back to the shepherd and then return to the hunt to find the millions more that our lost in this world. The work is plenty, the harvest is ready, the workers are few. It’s time to get to work.
Since January 1, I asked those following this blog to pray for a specific miracle to happen in your life, and we have prayed for it everyday since. If you have not seen your miracle be brought to life, for the next week we are going to ask God to speak life into this prayer and answer your request by the end of this month. Today we are also going to start to pray for another specific miracle. We are going to pray for God to use this pandemic to open the eyes of the world and bring everyone’s focus back to God and allow them to fix their eyes on Jesus. Maudy Thursday will be the day COVID stops spreading and Good Friday will see the first day of recovery. And Easter Sunday will be the day of resurrection for this country. Pray this prayer with me every day.

Fitness challenge: For the last three months we have been building up on our 7×14 challenge. 7 different body weight exercises, 14 repetitions. This month we did 3 sets on our calisthenics days. This is our last day keeping our reps at 14. Mix up your sets, go slow for the first, speed up the second round, then go super slow your last. And get ready. Next week we’re kicking these workouts up a notch.
