I have shared two of the three sermons my family and I watched on “stay-at-home” Sunday. Today I am sharing my favorite from this past weekend. Please watch this sermon. Pastor Steven Furtick speaks truth like no one else.

27“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you-you of little faith! 29And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. (Luke 12:27-31)
In today’s verses, we see how Jesus again tells His disciples they should not worry about how they’ll be clothed or where they will find their next meal. In less than a week, America essentially wiped out the nation’s stock holds of many aspects of food. We hadn’t even arrived at the national “stay-at-home” orders, and the nation had panicked. Fear of the virus, fear of running out of food, even fear of the absurd, like the government forcing America to stay in their homes by Marshal Law. If the nation had just exercised common sense, we would have seen that there had not been a moment where fear should have ever arrived on the shores of this land. Buy what you need week to week. Don’t let fear alter the way you behave.
This is a test for our world. If we do not come back to God and learn permanent change from this, then what we will see in the future will truly be the time to panic and be filled with fear.
Since January 1, I asked those following this blog to pray for a specific miracle to happen in your life, and we have prayed for it everyday since. If you have not seen your miracle be brought to life, for the next week we are going to ask God to speak life into this prayer and answer your request by the end of this month. Today we are also going to start to pray for another specific miracle. We are going to pray for God to use this pandemic to open the eyes of the world and bring everyone’s focus back to God and allow them to fix their eyes on Jesus. Maudy Thursday will be the day COVID stops spreading and Good Friday will see the first day of recovery. And Easter Sunday will be the day of resurrection for this country. Pray this prayer with me every day.
