What if there are miracles happening every moment, and we’re just out of touch with them? Have you ever considered the miracle of your own heart, beating away faithfully in your chest?… Open yourself to the ordinary miracles that are no less wonderful because they happen every day. (Smith, Mandy. “Unfettered” pg 95)
Day 31 of Russia’s war on Ukraine. Click here for the latest updates on Russia’s illegal, immoral, unethical, inhumane occupation of Ukraine. God continues to be with the people of Ukraine as they have thwarted Russia’s original plans and new reports suggest that Putin may be shifting the focus of his war back to the east, to the contested area of Donbas, which was Putin’s original reason for war.
Yesterday, I failed to mention anything from our reading of Chapter 4 of Mandy Smith’s novel, “Unfettered,” so today, I want to get us back on track. As I mentioned back at the beginning of this week, Chapter 4, “What Doesn’t Get in the Way of Receiving,” is only two pages long. Ms. Smith plainly writes that if we get out of our own way, practice resting from our western culture and our need to control everything, we will begin to receive from the Spirit and be connected to Jesus like branches from a deep rooted vine. Ms. Smith puts “Field Guides” intermittently through her book to give further examples of how to put her teachings into immediate action in our lives. I really loved how she closed this short chapter with learning how to appreciate the everyday miracles that God provides to us, every moment of every minute of every hour of our life. Ms. Smith hits the nail right on the head with the words above: from the miracle of our own beating heart, to the wonders of experiencing taste and sound, all of these miracles are the work of God. We did nothing, and do nothing, to enable these miracles to work each and every second. All we do as humans is find ways to destroy the miracles God has provided.
Just like the devil is using Russia to destroy the miracle that is the country of Ukraine, God is using His warriors to rise up in action and unity to do whatever they can to help battle this face of evil. We can all do something to bring light to this darkness. Below is a perfect example of using your platform to battle the devil.
for King & Country released a special recording of their new album: “What Are We Waiting For?” which they put together just for the purpose of raising money for Convoy of Hope which is ushering in aid to Ukraine. Click the image below to watch this amazing work of the Spirit, and click here to give what you can to help the innocent lives that have been uprooted and forced to flee their homes and livelihoods. Be the change this world desperately needs. Your everyday miracle of generosity will be transformed to a life-giving miracle on the other side of the world. That is the multiplying power of God.
