Happy Friday Y’all. Our Old Testament reading is shifting from destructive prophecies to prophecies of restoration, rattling, and rebirth from the Prophet Ezekiel. We’re two days away from the verses that inspired Elevation Worship’s epic worship song “Rattle.” The daily reading is pretty quick, which means you should have extra time for some further enrichment! To help fill your day with the right kind of screen time, here are some amazing sermons, interviews, and songs.
I realized yesterday I had not shared Pastor Steven Furtick’s amazing sermon from last Sunday, so here it is below.
Also worth watching/listening to is this week’s podcast from the bunch at The Holy Post. Skye Jethani’s interview with author Alan Noble highlights Mr. Noble’s upcoming novel, another voice proclaiming the truth of our identity and purpose on Earth.
Finally, here is my favorite song released last Friday. I am currently reviewing today’s releases and it seems to be an off week, but there are a handful of great new singles. In the meantime, here is another truly unique sound from RICHLIN and a reminder, we have a King on the inside, we are heirs to a royal throne and we can stand confidently in that power.
From time-to-time I am asked how I am able to listen to all this music and other media throughout the week. The primary opportunity I have is my commute to work, which is 35-45 minutes depending on traffic, plenty of time to devote to enriching my soul. I get all this media through Spotify, but it’s easier to share on here with YouTube. All of these are available on wherever you get your streaming from. But I have also prioritized my life to follow this handful of thought-provoking, spiritual awakening media. My Monday and Tuesday focus is listening to sermons from the previous weekend. Wednesday’s and Thursday’s give me time to get through the Holy Post’s podcast, and Friday through Sunday is my time to review all the new music released for the week. And I always have music on, it drives Mrs. Z crazy, but I hate silence, and I think we all should have our own soundtrack playing of our lives every day. My soundtrack has changed over the years, but in this season of my life, I truly, truly love the music I am filling my heart, mind and soul with. I wish you all a blessed day and a wonderful weekend!
