9“I made it beautiful
with abundant branches,
the envy of all the trees of Eden
in the garden of God.” (Ezekiel 31:9)
Good morning friends. Today’s chapters in the Book of Ezekiel are two “colorful” prophecies regarding the Pharaoh of Egypt. Nothing inspirational to pull from these chapters, but some beautiful metaphors as Ezekiel compares Assyria to a towering cedar. While the Old Testament reading may be dry and unfulfilling, the Book of Hebrews continues to supply wonderful reading. And if you are looking for something more uplifting, I’ve got a slew of new music for you.
Where to start? I’ll suggest warming up this morning of worship with the new single from Jonathan Traylor, which you can listen to here. Next, sample these new singles from Church of the City (“Speak The Name”) and Jordan St. Cyr (“Weary Traveler”). Then jump into the new single by Alexander Pappas; a fun, energetic track, “A BEAUTIFUL LIFE” has been on repeat all week whenever I listened to music. Finally, wrap up the singles with this one from Charity Gayle, who also released a full length album on Friday (click here). Enjoy and y’all have a wonderful Thursday.
Reading plan: Hebrews 5:1-10
Deeper reading plan: Ezekiel 31, 32
