1When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. (Acts 2:1)
Happy Sunday family! I am pushing this out late because we had a busy day. I tried to put a post together last night but could not find anything out of the Old Testament reading to highlight. Then at our church today, they highlighted the fact that this is the Day of Pentecost, which was something I did not even know existed. The Day of Pentecost is celebrated 50 days after Easter and marks the day Jesus ascended to Heaven and the Disciples experienced the Holy Spirit and converted some three thousand members into the Christian Church (this should sound familiar since we just read this at the beginning of the month.) Pretty amazing we read the story of Pentecost the same month it is celebrated! A coincidence only God could make happen.
So as I said yesterday, I wanted to highlight some of the new music released on Friday. Led by Gary Levox’s break with Rascal Flats to begin his solo career as a Christian artist, the New Music Christian playlist on Spotify had hit after hit. Just click on the link in the previous sentence to hear all there is to enjoy, new music from Danny Gokey; Bryan & Katie Torwalt; The Church Will Sing; VOUS Worship; Life Worship; as well as some fun remixes from Evvie McKinney, and a whole EP of remixes brought to us by Andy Mineo and Lecrae from their smash hit “Coming in Hot.” (Click all three of those links as they have some fun and conjure up the greatness of “Night at the Roxbury”). But of all these, my favorite single comes from Bethel Church and features Mr. Brandon Lake. Tomorrow I’ll share my favorite album released this week. Have a blessed day of Pentecost!
