CSR Daily Devotion

Good Morning Family! I’ll have some big news to share on here tomorrow. But today, we are rushing off to church and I wanted to share an incredible article that a dear friend shared to my wife and I yesterday that you just have to read. It’s amazing this piece was published in the NY Times on Christmas Eve, click here to read it.

As I was going through my Top Songs of 2020, as compiled on Spotify, I realized I can’t just share 5 songs. There was so much amazing music put out by the Christian music world in 2020, I have to do at least a top 10. And here they are.

10. Influence Music: Rebels/Hosanna-while this album was a deluxe version released in 2019, this album came out right at the beginning of the year and became my soundtrack to launch us into 2020.

9. Sidewalk Prophets: I Believe It Now– “The Things That Got Us Here” was a wonderful album that dropped mid-year and helped keep us dancing and singing for a solid month. This was my favorite track off that record.

December 27

7When the thousand years are over, satan will be released from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth-Gog and Magog-and to gather them for battle.  In number they are like the sand on the seashore.  9They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.  10And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown.  They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.  (Revelation 20:7-10)

The devil, after being chained for one thousand years, is let loose into the world.  Satan gathers his army for one final fight, pushing God’s people to Jerusalem and surrounding them from every angle.  The devil’s army may be big enough to cover the whole world over, but it doesn’t matter.  As we quickly see in the next sentence, fire rains down from heaven and devours satan’s army.  And then satan is tossed into the burning lake of sulfur.

God and Jesus are going to make satan look a fool in the end.  I just wish they did not have to wait for the events of Revelation to finally destroy the devil.  Let’s do it now, let’s do it here.  In fact, I challenge you to be the change this coming year to make the pull of satan obsolete.  Let’s love like Jesus this whole year and never look back.

Prayer and meditation:  We will shift our focus to this next year.  Today we pray that America stays committed to attending and serving in their church all year long.  We pray that the revival of this year picks up momentum and sweeps across the country and around the world.

Fitness challenge:  stretch, rest, and recover

Worship:  This is your last Sunday of 2020!  I hope you are in church and worshiping with the praise needed to leave this year behind and march boldly into the new year and be born again.
