Happy Hump Day Friends! I was reminded of the greatness of Transformation Church‘s energetic Pastor Michael Todd over the last two days when I listened to his message from this past weekend. I have not been keeping up with his sermons like I should have, but this one is definitely worth sharing.
Today on my Top #25 Christmas Songs, I am sharing two of Matthew West‘s great originals songs that speak out to the beauty of the holiday, starting with “The Heart of Christmas.”
And tied with young Matthew West is older Matthew West who continues to demonstrate his talent and gifts year after year. “Unto Us” will always be one of my favorite Christmas anthems.
17”For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’” (Revelation 7:17)
I love this verse because it sits sandwiched between the opening carnage and chaos of the first six seals, and the tribulation the world is about to endure when the seventh seal is unleashed upon the world. Through it all, there is Jesus, the Lamb at the center of the throne, and God, the good, good Father, ready to wipe away every tear in each believers’ eyes.
This may seem a bit confusing. Here is the Creator of life, instrumenting the end of humanity, yet standing ready to comfort those in mourning or from the pain of enduring such disaster. How can such a loving Father put humanity through such terror? Well, to me, it’s because He gave us plenty of time, opportunity, instruction, and power to bring Heaven to Earth. But when humanity failed God over and over, He has always had the end planned out. And this is how John envisioned the end of the world. But as horrible as it seems, God is still the great comforter, and His Son is still the Prince of Peace.
