CSR Daily Devotion

While we anxiously wait the outcome of this election, take heart (again), and remember that God is in control.

This new album of some of Hillsong Worship’s greatest hits is a great soundtrack to help bring peace to a weary heart.

November 5

9Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness.  10Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.  11But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness.  They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.   (1 John  2:9-11)

Just a reminder, not to you dear reader, because I know you have learned this truth by now, but our “brothers and sisters” are every beating heart under the sun.  As we are all Children of God, you are my brother, you are my sister.  So to have any prejudice, or to hold stereotypes against anyone different than you puts you in the place described in the verses above:  wandering around the darkness, just hoping to see the light.  As Christians, we need to be the light at the top of the hill, shining as an exemplary example of faith and love.  America, we have got to put our differences aside so we can help fix the rest of the world.

Reading plan:  1 John 2:12-14

Deeper reading plan:  Jonah 4

Prayer and meditation:  Today we thank God for the animals in the sea, lakes, and rivers.  From the fish that provide sustenance to many, to the dolphins and whales that provide majesty and beautiful balance to the oceans ecosystem.  Pray for our country.  Pray for love to conquer all.  Pray for revival that is permanent and world changing.

  1. Hand-release Push-up
  2. Sit-up
