CSR Daily Devotion

Good Morning Y’all! So the song I am sharing below is a nice reminder we all need to consider each and every day: God loves us just because He does. It’s nothing we can do to earn that love, but He loves us anyway.

October 7

22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.  23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  25But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it-not forgetting what they have heard but doing it-they will be blessed in what they do.  (James 1:22-25)

As we discussed yesterday, about having the Word planted firmly in you and the freedom it brings, James goes right into the same point in his epistle.  Do not merely read the Bible.  Don’t just attend church, listen to the words of your favorite Pastor and go back to living your life lost in this world.  The Bible is meant to give you freedom to live a truly blessed life, but it takes you LIVING a life that is a blessing to others.  So do not be like a person who looks in the mirror and as soon as you look away, you forget what you were looking at.
