CSR Daily Devotion

Happy Weekend Friends! So much good music came out yesterday in the Christian music scene! A lot of singles and four big album releases. One of my favorites is KB‘s newest work: His Glory Alone. I grew up a child of the 90’s, when hip-hop was at it’s best, so anytime I can enjoy good Christian hip-hop, I am a very happy person. This new album by KB has a lot of good beats and quick lyrics. Here’s a sample of how fun clean, meaningful hip-hop can be.

September 26

26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.  28Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.  29How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?  30For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”  31It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:26-31)

“It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”  This paragraph has all the fire and brimstone of a good, old Sunday church service.  A stark reminder of the “fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire” that will consume those who deliberately keep on sinning after they have received the knowledge of the truth.  Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you have followed this devotional to this point, you are now one who has “received the knowledge of the truth.”  So if you continue to keep sinning, to keep allowing the temptations of society, culture, and this world distract you from living a righteous life, well, consider yourself warned.  Jesus is a loving, caring, forgiving Father.  But His father, the Father of Creation, history has shown that He will judge us fairly and properly.  God will judge His people, which is all people.  Make sure you live everyday with full confidence of pleasing our God.
