CSR Daily Devotion

Good morning y’all! I wish you a blessed day. After reviewing the Devotion today, I’m going to keep this short, share some new great music, and let you just focus on the message from the Word today.

September 17

12In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!  (Hebrews  5:12)

I hope that by the end of this year, you will have graduated from the infancy stage of your knowledge and begin to be able to teach others with confidence of the truth and glory of Jesus Christ.  The author of Hebrews has run out of patience with the Hebrew people.  He writes a solid burn here, claiming that with their history, they should all be teachers of the God’s word, yet they are having to be taught over and over again, generation after generation the “elementary truths” of their religion.  This must be how most Pastors and Preachers feel.  They stand in front of their congregation week after week preaching the same message of love, peace, generosity, forgiveness, mercy, humbleness, kindness, etc, etc.  And week after week they see their numbers fluctuate, their outreach shrink, and their communities still struggling nationwide.  America, we need to come out of our infant stage.  We should be teaching the world how to be an accurate representation of Christ’s kingdom.  Yet look at us, we are anything but that.  Finish this project, close out the year and become a teacher of the Word, a teacher of the love of Christ, and a living example of God’s kingdom here on Earth.

Reading plan:  Hebrews 5:11-14

Deeper reading plan:  Ezekiel 33, 34

Prayer and meditation:  Pray for our country.  Pray for love to conquer all.  Pray for God’s wings of protection to cover all the children returning to school.  Pray that Christ infects our hearts and ignites a final fire of revival to sweep this land.

Fitness challenge:  Day 17-17 reps of the following:

  1. Hand-release Push-up
  2. Sit-up
  3. Jumping squat
  4. Leg lift
  5. Burpees

Distance run day. 4 miles at a nice comfortable pace.
