CSR Daily Devotion

I pray a blessing over y’all this week. May we enter the second part of September full of gratitude and love for the miracles of our Creator and our Savior. Today I am sharing another great word from Elevation Church‘s sermon this past weekend.

Pastor Furtick is back with another amazing sermon.

Today’s Song of the Day is a powerful reminder to us all, as we navigate the never ending assault of bad news and tragedy of this year, I can hear my Father singing over me, “it’s gonna be okay.”

September 14

12For the word of God is alive and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.  Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.  (Hebrews 4:12, 13)

I think we all need the reminders in this paragraph.  First, and most important, the word of God is alive and active.  I pray that during this year, as you have read and explored the Bible for maybe the first time in your life, you have realized that it is alive.  The Bible will speak to you, words written thousands of years ago cry out for you, and they are ready to set you free.  You just have to pick the Bible up and read it.

The second reminder that nothing is hidden from God’s sight.  God sees all our thoughts, and according to the author of Hebrews, God judges the thoughts and attitudes of our hearts.  If you were to treat every thought you had, every bad day, every angry moment, think if that were the last thought you were to have while alive, and the very first sin to answer for in the afterlife.  Would any of that negativity be worth costing you eternity?  So why let the devil in.  Stay positive, keep your heart filled with love.  Pray and meditate negative vibes away and just keep your heart open for Jesus and the Holy Spirit to invade.

Reading plan:  Hebrews 4:1-11

Deeper reading plan:  Ezekiel 27, 28

Prayer and meditation:  Pray for our country.  Pray for love to conquer all.  Pray for God’s wings of protection to cover all the children returning to school.  Pray that Christ infects our hearts and ignites a final fire of revival to sweep this land.

Fitness challenge:  Day 14-14 reps each:

  1.  Hand-release Push-up
  2. Sit-up
  3. Jumping squat
  4. Leg lift
  5. Burpees

Run:  Monday-resistance running day. Whatever you used last week, get after it again.  This week, perform 8 sprints with whatever resistance you can come up with, add a half mile warm-up and cool-down.
