I apologize for getting this out late this morning. I did something I have not done all year last night. For the first time I did not set an alarm and slept until my kids woke me up. The result of that is 10 hours of much needed rest.
We all need a day every so often without any priorities, without any need to set that alarm clock. Sleep and refresh. I have not had that all year due to the busyness my 2020 has become. I pray you all have a day sometime soon when you can just let your body and mind catch up. Obviously we can not sleep in every day. There’s still much work left to do to save this wretched world, and we are the hands and feet of Christ. Take a day, reset, then come back more ready than ever to carry the revival of 2020 to the world!
8Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, 9and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. 10His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. (Ephesians 3:8-12)
I chose to highlight these verses because Paul is humbly presenting his purpose to the Ephesian church. Thousands of years later, we get to read and understand that same explanation. Paul, introduces himself as less than the least of all the Lord’s people. Just that statement alone is magnificent. Here is the man who is about to be part of a movement that will change the ENTIRE world, and he sees himself as less than anyone else in the world. I think we all could take a bite of that same humble pie. Paul continues to state that his purpose is to preach to the entire world the boundless love of Christ and the explanation to the mystery of the Bible. Paul explains that thanks to Jesus, we can now have complete freedom from sin and be confident in our relationship with our eternal Heavenly Father.
Well, somehow for the last two millennia, the world has gotten it wrong. 2020 has shown that this needs to be the year we as Christians show the world what being a Christian truly entails. We’re over the hump now. The year is halfway over, and we still have enormous amounts of work to be done. But every day you get the opportunity to speak truth and life into the world. Make sure you are doing it in plain speech, in the plain language that is love, peace, and joy.
