Happy Monday Y’all! Today wraps up my wife’s wonderful guest writings. Give her a word of encouragement in the comments and hopefully she’ll tackle a few weeks in the months ahead. 19The acts of flesh are obvious: Sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and 21envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)
Whoa, whoa, whoa!
“Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (insert surprised face emoji here-😳). I don’t know about you, but I have been guilty of more than one of these things on more than one occasion. Jealousy ✓, fits of rage ✓✓, selfish ambitions ✓✓✓, envy ✓✓✓✓, drunkenness ✓✓✓✓✓✓✓. You get the picture. All I can say is thank you JESUS for forgiveness! I’ll be the first to say that it is H-A-R-D, Hard! not to give in to the desires of the flesh. But do you know what makes it easier? Being led by the Spirit. If you’re led by the Spirit, the Spirit lives in you. And you’ll want to do things that are pleasing to the Lord. The “fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)
Jesus lived His life on Earth without committing any of these sins. Let that be our motivation to do better, to be better. Look at what Jesus went through to save us from those sins. Bruised, beaten, and battered. All because we could not seem to get our acts together. We still sin. But luckily, He still loves us.

Prayer and meditation: Pray for our country. Pray for love to conquer all. Pray that Christ infects our hearts and ignites a final fire of revival to sweep this land.
