Sometimes all you need is the devotion to get you through. Today’s devotion is definitely one of those days. And this is the perfect song to pair with these wise words.
25Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden from long ages past, 26but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith-27to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen (Romans 16:25-27)
Today concludes our devotions from the Book of Romans with the closing benediction Paul wrote. We spent 23 days studying one letter that taught us many simple truths about living the Christian life. Jesus paid the price of our sins and set us free. We have been freed from the binds of sin and are no longer slaves to fear and condemnation as long as we live righteous lives. We do not have to judge others, just show the world love and compassion. Nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus Christ. And love is the ultimate fulfillment of the law.
Lots of love here. You will hear that alot from the letters Paul writes. We’ve had these letters in mass production for hundreds of years. We’ve claimed to be a Christian nation with Christian values, yet we’ve become a nation that’s focused on toughness over tenderness, chivalry over compassion, enforcers over empathizers. Christ is compassion and love. If that is not what flows through your heart and soul everyday you are on the wrong path. Wake up, weary sleeper.
