Common Sense REBORN Devotion

The Blind Leading The Blind

39Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment-to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.” (John 9:39)

Greetings family! It has been over two weeks since I last got one here and put a post together. I hope this finds you in good health and decent spirits. With all that is going on in the world right now, if you are in good spirits, you might want to expand your circle. While there is much to be joyful for, because God is good every day; man is not good, and mankind has the rest of the world in an utter disaster. We should still be in a period of mourning and prayer for the people of Ukraine, the Palestinians, and the Israeli hostages. Not to mention all those who continue to suffer in our own country: the poor, the overflowing foster care system, the Haitians that are starving and eating people’s cats in Ohio… That last one never happened, well, not in the way trump ranted during the presidential debate last Tuesday, which brings me to the point of this post: the blind leading the blind.

I hope that you all were able to catch the debate between Vice President Harris and the crazy old man trump. How quickly the tide turned by President Biden doing the wise thing and stepping aside so a younger generation could step in. Now, let me start by saying I am not a huge fan of VP Harris. I do like her as a person, for what she did before she was VP as a prosecutor and Attorney General, but I do agree with the Republican stance of: what did she do in the last four years? However, looking at the alternative, the possibility of trump returning to power and what he will do with the country if we allow that mistake to happen, I shudder to think about it. trump and his minions are blaming the “left” for another assassination attempt (both trump’s attempted assassinations were done by individuals who had once supported the madman and voted for him in 2016, but they have come to see the truth of how dangerous he is). I caught the majority of the debate against VP Harris, who amazingly kept her cool throughout trump’s repeated attacks and outright lies. The ABC News commentators were calling trump out for his false claims about Haitians eating cats in Ohio and trump just double-downed on his lies (the people of Springfield, Ohio, have banded together to lift up their Haitian community that has come under attack thanks to trump and vance). When the debate ended, I told myself, how anyone could support trump after that performance would be beyond reasoning. I went to sleep feeling comfort that the country had finally seen exactly who trump is: a puppet of a toddler that the right wants to lift up to protect the wealthiest in this country.

Well, the blind are still leading the blind, as trump’s horrific debate performance did nothing to turn his base. They look at this orange, man-child throwing a fit on the national stage and somehow still feel like this is the person we should have leading (what could be) the greatest country in the world. VP Harris was accurate; the military leaders of America do look at trump as a disgrace to this country. I know because I am a leader in the military, and I am disgraced that he ever held the role of president. If you did not watch the debate live, you can view it by clicking here. If you want to do your due-diligence as a voting citizen of this country; you can fact-check all the lies spewed out to the American people (which was unfortunately from both Harris and trump) by clicking here. Which is another thing, how do you support someone who consistently lies to you every time he steps on the stage? Wake up America. We can do better than donald trump. We have to do better.

I know I may offend many with a political post like this, and I wish I did not have to write about politics on this platform, but with only fifty days until the election, I had to get this off my chest. I do pray for protection over trump, that he tones down his rhetoric, so he does not get himself killed. I pray for protection of all our political leaders and for a peaceful election. There is so much else going on in the world that we need to stop this bitter party fighting and come together as a nation, to fix our problems so we can work at helping the world fix theirs. What heaven can’t do, we have to do ourselves, and voting the right leader into the White House is something only we can do.
