Hope
8“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty…”. (Revelation 4:8)
I know in my last post, I mentioned that I would start sharing what I have been learning while reading Auschwitz: A New History. It has put me in a very dark place. And I will be taking us all there soon, but today I did see some light in the darkness. Today, I forced myself back into the hope of tomorrow.
I watched my home church’s “Night Zero” which I encourage you to click the link below and see the hope of the future. Night Zero is Compassion Christian Church’s annual event to get middle and high school kids fired up for God, for serving, and for attending Summer Camp. I never did a Christian camp as a youth, but I really wish I had. These kids looks like they have a blast, and it shows on a small scale how Jesus is moving through the youth of the world. And if you want to see God move on a much larger scale, click the next image. Passion Conference is Passion City Church’s annual conference for college age young adults. This year was definitely a special year for Passion. The music was phenomenal, the line-up of speakers was powerful, and the Holy Spirit was present in a tangible way. Passion Music just released the live album from the conference and it is my new favorite worship album. While there are many soul-stirring ballads on the line-up, what happened in the song below is just incredible. A spontaneous worship experience as the sold out Mercedes-Benz arena chants, “Oh you are holy, holy, are you Lord God Almighty. Worthy is the Lamb. Worthy is the Lamb.” The crowd sings this praise over and over for much of this twenty minute track. And that ray of sunlight, if that’s not proof that God was in that arena, well, that’s all the proof I need.
