Common Sense REBORN Devotion

March 18

1“Make the Tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim woven into them by a skilled worker.”  (Exodus 26:1, The Jesus Bible)

I hope y’all are having a wonderful, blessed weekend celebrating the great Saint Patrick of Ireland.  The city of Savannah is having a ripe ole time in the second year for the return of the grand St. Patrick’s Day parade.  I am in the midst of working the madness and will hopefully have much wisdom to share with y’all on Monday once I get through the festival weekend.

For today, I wanted to touch on the intricate details of the Book of Exodus where God spoke to Moses and gave him specific-down-to-the-measurement-and-material-instructions on how to build the Ark of the Covenant and the original Hebrew Tabernacle.  When I read the Holy Bible for the first time, I found it strange and marvelous at the specifics of these instructions.  Instructions that were transcribed over and over, read to the original Israelites at Temple for thousands of years.  It is dry and one of the first sections in the Old Testament that will put you to sleep quickly.  The excitement of Moses’ exodus from Egypt is over, now God is laying down the details of what He wants from His people, and what He wants them to build for Him.

While some may think this was vain of the creator of the universe to hand pick the materials, colors, and number of decorations for His first church, what it shows is the masterful design God had for mankind.  While He was speaking to Moses and giving specifics in Exodus, God had already planned the redemption of mankind through the glorious design of His son, Jesus Christ.

God has the same marvelous design for you as well.  He has plans for you to prosper. For you to have many blessings For you to live a life of joy and love, but you have to be willing to give your life to God and Jesus.  In Romans 8:28, Paul writes:

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

I know for much of my younger life, I heard this verse quoted but they cut it short after “we know that in all things God works for the good”, leaving out the most important part:  for those who love God, who have been called according to God’s purpose.  Well, God’s purpose is for you to love Him and love everyone else just as much.  That’s why God loved the world so much He gave His only begotten Son.  That’s why God loved the world so much He spoke to them about the beauty and design of the Tabernacle, the Ark, and the plans He has always had for humanity. Give your life to God and see how marvelous His plans are for you.

There’s a Tabernacle full of new wonderful music out this week.  I only was able to share one song with y’all last week, that mighty new jam from Bridge Worship.  I later discovered that Passion’s annual album from the Passion Conference was released last week, and you can hear that by clicking here.  It is another wonderful collection of amazing worship anthems.  With limited time to spare, I must get to this week’s new releases and the song below is a fantastic new release from Mr. Cody Carnes.  Click and enjoy, and be blessed.
