January 14
10And He called His twelve and gave them the power to expel unclean spirits and to heal every pain and illness. (Matthew 10:1; The Original Gospels)
Good morning family! I just so happened to have read the above verse just the other day and this morning I learned about something pretty incredible in France. You may be familiar with this astounding site, but this was all new to me. I did some reading last night about Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, France, who claimed to have been visited by the Virgin Mary eighteen times. During one of those visions, Mary commanded Bernadette to build a sanctuary over a spring in Lourdes, which she championed to make happen, and since then, the waters of the spring are rumored to have performed over 7,000 miracles, with 70 of the miracles being confirmed by the Catholic Church (lots of ‘7’s there). When doing this research, I stumbled on this :60 Minutes piece that was just released a little over three weeks ago. Click on the image below to see that miracles do still exist today.
The verse above and all of Matthew Chapter 10 is much of the story line for The Chosen Season Three. If you are not watching it yet, click the image below to get started (don’t feel too bad, I still have not seen an episode yet).
God is still performing miracles. We can perform our own miracles in people’s lives. They may not be the supernatural healings that Jesus and His disciples were able to perform, but you can lead an unbeliever to find Jesus, and the miracle in that transformation is just as important and powerful. We still have work to do. And as Leeland sings in his new single, if you’ve still got breath in your lungs, you are not done yet.
