One of the things that surprised me when I first read the New Testament seriously was that it talked so much about a Dark Power in the universe-a mighty evil spirit who was held to be the Power behind death and disease, and sin. The difference is that Christianity thinks this Dark Power was created by God, and was good when he was created, and went wrong. Christianity agrees with Dualism that this universe is at war. But it does not think this is a war between independent powers. It thinks it is a civil war, a rebellion, and that we are living in a part of the universe occupied by the rebel. (C.S. Lewis, “Mere Christianity” pg 45)
Blessings friends! I am making good on my promise from yesterday and posting two days in a row! I have not posted two days in a row since the birth of SGZ3 when I did my six days of heavenly bliss as we celebrated the arrival of our final baby in the family.
There’s a lot going on in the world. A lot of bad news. A lot of the “dark power” (as C.S. Lewis termed it above) attempting to derail all the work of the endless Christian warriors around the world. Russia continues to pound Ukraine despite having enormous losses in the 8-month conflict. We are in election season here in America and our nation continues to be bitterly divided. Each party smears the other and no one seems to be worried about the greater good for all of America. War in Eastern Europe, and America’s own soft civil war between political parties. Just as C.S. Lewis wrote above, we are living in the rebellion.
Do not let the devil discourage you: good continues to triumph over evil. One thing I have been wanting to share with y’all since it dropped last week was the official trailer of Season 3 of The Chosen!
Now, if you missed me raving about this series back in August, just know, once November 18 hits and I start watching the next chapter in this incredible series, I will be posting on here often with nothing but good things to say. If you want to see the most accurate portrayal of Jesus Christ ever created, click on this link to access the Chosen and start binging Seasons 1 and 2.
As I said yesterday, there has been a ton of amazing new music released in the Christian genre. While most weeks feature many great new singles, this last week brought in many new albums from Josh Baldwin, MercyMe, Jonathan Ogden, a really fun and upbeat worship album from River Valley AGES. The OG’s, Steven Curtis Chapman, album came out last week, but I was not able to post, and like all his previous music, it is a great collection. Click on any of those previous links to listen to all these wonderful works. There were too many singles to name them all, but from all the great releases, I was very excited to see that one of my favorite artists dropped new music, which you can click below to hear and enjoy for yourself.
