Common Sense REBORN Devotion

Healing the racial divide is going to require people to be unwavering in their allegiance to Jesus and his Gospel.  For such a time as this, you are being raised up to be this person.  (Dr. Gray, Derwin, “How To Heal Our Racial Divide”, pg 142)

Day 152 of Russia’s war with Ukraine.  Day 52 of America’s deadly summer (I started this count from June 1).  Click on either count for an update to the wars that are gripping this world:  the war in Eastern Europe and the war within our own streets.

As Dr. Derwin Gray wrote in the words above, you have been raised for such a time as this.  The enemy is achieving small victories every day.  As we all know, Jesus has already won the war, but that does not mean we can’t give the devil his due during our time here on Earth.  In the face of all the evil unfolding around us, we can still be ambassadors of Christ, getting out in our neighborhoods, spreading love and standing against all the hate.

Yesterday, I was feeling pretty overwhelmed by all the evil I see in the world around me, then I finished listening to Pastor Steven Furtick’s message that I shared.  Pastor Furtick preached about the fact that our troubles here on Earth may be deep, but the grace of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit is deeper and knows no end.  The words of Pastor Furtick were a much needed reminder of the power that exists in all of us, and the message was so good, I am sharing it again.  Click the image below and be blessed.

My friends at the Holy Post moved off the abortion hot-button issue to discuss another controversial topic that has swept America in recent years, and that is the trouble of “Christian Nationalism”.  Christian Nationalism is the belief that America is shaped by Christianity and the government should enact laws and rules that protect America’s Christian identity.  As one that has personally written about America’s identity as a Christian nation, I really appreciated the conversation the hosts of The Holy Post had on their podcast this week.  I recommend you click the video below and listen to this discussion yourself.

Finally, there were many great new songs that were released last week, but the track below stood out from all the rest as a beautiful reminder of the importance of who YOU are; that you have been beautifully and wonderfully made.
