23Let not the wise boast of their wisdom
or the strong boast of their strength
or the rich boast of their riches,
24but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have the understanding to know me,
that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,”
declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 9:23, 24)
Hello friends! Are you enjoying reading from the book of Jeremiah? This is an interesting book. A lot of what we’ve read so far is dark and foreboding, the constant threat of destruction for Israel due to their lack of faith and constant betrayal to Yahweh as they do their own thing and follow false Gods. Jeremiah is another long book, but it is sprinkled with some very memorable verses later on. So far, the reading has just been gloom and doom.
Lucky for us, there are mighty warriors in our current age that are out there writing words of inspiration and hope. I am beyond proud and jubilant to bring your attention to a fellow blogger: my beautiful, talented, incredibly wise wife, Mrs. Z! Yes, friends, you read that right, my wife has just launched her own blog. You can find it over on her page at
“Goodness Gravy Boats” is one of my wife’s most famous catch phrases she loves to use to garner a giggle out of our children. Her blog is a refreshing read of thoughtful inspiration from her own readings of the Bible. Head over to her page to check out her first two posts. I know I’m already impressed by what she is writing.
So why do we blog? Well, for me, it’s therapeutic. Blogging allows us to release the thoughts trapped in our minds and hearts, put them on a computer and after polishing them up a bit, send them out to the world in the hope that someone reading this, somewhere might find inspiration from our work. We are not experts at anything, just everyday folk like most of the world. If you want to listen to the experts, and some of the greatest minds in Christian Theology, I urge you to check out The Holy Post and listen to their weekly commentary. Also, Pastor Steven Furtick’s message from this past weekend was straight fire again. You can watch that message by clicking below.
Last Friday ended up being an unexpected drop of a TON of great Christian music. I have not even had time to touch some of the great singles, as there were a bunch of EP’s and even a great new album from Needtobreathe. Today I am enjoying one of those EPs, this one from 7eventh Time Down. At just five tracks, “I’m Free,” is a quick album to enjoy, but each of these tracks is gold. The EP is the new way for artists to get their work out quicker to the world, and I love it because it makes for an unending supply of great music for us to enjoy. It was hard to pick a favorite out of these five, but the one below has a great sound and powerful lyrics.
