4For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. (Jude 4)
As you progress forward from this journey of transitioning from Disciple to Apostle, you must beware of the ungodly people who pervert the grace of God. These are the wolves in sheep’s clothing. Some are easy to spot: those who commit crimes against others, yet wear crosses around their necks. Or those that say they are conserative Christians but they also promote violence against others, are giant gun activists, and are proud of wars instead of working for peace. But there are those among us that pervert the word of God to fulfill their personal agendas. The only clear way to know who is a true Christian and who is out to profit off of Christianity is if those speaking in the name of Jesus are speaking of absolute love, complete inclusion of all people, and protection of all creation. There is no deviation from this. You either love God and love others, or you don’t. People make this hard, but it’s that simple. Treat everyone with complete respect and kindness. Even your enemies, even those different than you. God created every living thing on this planet. Love all of it and all of them. That’s how you determine if someone is ungodly or not.
