CSR Daily Devotion

Sorry to be pushing this out so late. I worked quite the long shift last night, a full 20 hour bonanza. Needless to say, when I got home I took a much needed nap and here I am at nearly six at night getting this out to y’all. I hope you had an amazing pre-election Monday!

November 2

5This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you:  God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.  6If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.  (1 John 1:5-7)

John states a simple truth here that America largely ignores.  You can not claim to have fellowship with God, to be one with the light, yet consistently walk in the darkness.  You can not claim to be Christian yet be gun advocates.  You can not claim to be Christian and support divorce.  You can not claim to be Christian and judge others by their sexual orientation.  You can not claim to be Christian and continue to support agendas that further divide and ostracize groups in our society.  You can not claim to be Christian yet constantly choose agendas that hurt God’s creation and damage the world He has gifted to us.  You either walk in the light, or you do not.  It is that simple.  Where does your fellowship come from?

Reading plan:  1 John 1:5-10

Prayer and meditation:  Today we thank God for Earth, for gifting us with this amazing planet.  Pray for common sense to infect the minds of all of America and we chose the best candidate to lead this country into a better tomorrow.  Pray for peace, pray for calm.  Pray the revival in your heart overflows to all those around you.
