“It’s time for the sleeper to wake, it’s time for the old winds to change. I hear the Spirit say it’s time.”
These are the opening lyrics of Mrs. Kari Jobe’s newest classic. A worship song that will easily be the anthem for the end of 2020. Let’s open up the windows and let the light in!

13When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. (James 1:13-15)
I love this point that James makes, God never tempts us. Any temptations we feel are not from God, but from our enemy, or from our own weaknesses. God is the one who gives you strength to resist these temptations. Always remember that. As James simply states, “God cannot be tempted by evil.” God is a good, good Father and would never tempt His children just to test their devotion.
So when you feel yourself being tempted to sin, instantly go to prayer. Ask for God to deliver you from your temptations. Ask God to cleanse your heart. Then do whatever you can to remove yourself from the situation. Busy yourself with doing good and you’ll see that the enemy will have less opportunities to tempt you and less power to sway you into sin.
