CSR Daily Devotion

Happy Friday Y’all! There’s some great new singles coming out in the Christian Music scene. Today I am sharing the very first track that caught my attention. The Daily Devotion (DD) continues to share some of Paul’s greatest teachings that this world needs to be reminded of every single day.

4Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

Today we look at the “wedding verses.”  These are quite possibly the most read verses at wedding ceremonies around the world.  We like to wrap these verses up and present them as a gift and a guide to newly wed couples.  But these truths are meant as a guide to all of us and a beautiful reminder on the specifics of the love we are called to show the world.  A patient, kind, modest, honoring, slow-to-anger, truth-seeking, truth-rejoicing, protecting, trusting, hopeful, and persevering type of love.  As we saw yesterday, if we do not have love, we have nothing.

As we move into the second part of this year, pray for your heart to be filled with this type of love for God and for others.  Pray that this love overflows and radiates off you.  Infect those around you with the love of Jesus, a love that knows no limits, and shows no end.

Prayer and meditation:  Pray for our country.  Pray for love to conquer all.  Pray that Christ infects our hearts and ignites a final fire of revival to sweep this land.

Fitness challenge:  Free for all Friday-4 exercises at descending intervals (you’ll need a watch for this).  First set is 60 seconds of straight work, second set is 50 seconds, third set is 40 seconds, and so on until your last set is just 10 seconds of work.  Break for 10 seconds after each round (one round is all four exercises).
