Good Morning Friends! Today is another streaming-services Sunday. I’m posting the same list as before. Of course, I recommend catching one of Elevation Church’s live streams. The worship team is going to be pretty fired up after the release of their new album: Graves into Gardens (which is currently sitting at number three on the iTunes album charts-that’s #3 out of ALL genres of music!). I want to share the song that is moving me to tears every time I hear it. I was going to wait and build up to sharing this track, but I can not wait, and today seems like a fitting day, it being a day of worship and praise and all.
My little corner of this amazing planet we live on has had some of the most beautiful May weather we have had in years. A cold front had rolled through on Thursday and brought drier, cooler air. We’ve had temperatures in the 50’s in the morning, and the high’s never crept out of the 70’s. We’ve had stunning sunsets in our neighborhood. As I drove home yesterday, another masterful tapestry painted across the sky, I was listening to the song above. These lyrics, such a simple question to propose: “What would you do if He walked into the room?”
I would like to think I would bow down low, nobly, but in honesty, I would probably collapse into a weeping mess and only be able to drag myself to His feet, and take all my strength just to kiss His feet and attempt to give Him a single word of praise.
What I love most about the song above is that Mr. Templeton goes from a powerful ballad of asking the audience what they would do to simply stating the truth: He is here right now. We’re waiting for Jesus to show up on thunderous clouds to take all His followers home for eternity. But He’s here now. He walks this Earth just like the Holy Spirit. The King is here: the Healer, the Savior, the Provider, the Redeemer, the Champion, is here right now! So what are you going to do? What are you going to do today to give praise and worship to the King of all Kings?

May 3
38Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. (Acts 2:38-41)
You know what day today is! We have studied passages from every book this year that all say the same thing: get baptized! If you have already heeded my advice, I applaud you, let me know on the website. But if you still haven’t decided to get baptized, what are you waiting for?! Here, again, we see the importance of this spiritual act of public declaration that you are accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior of your life. Get out and get washed clean in the water. As you read in Acts 2, at the end of Peter’s speech at Pentecost, almost three thousand Jewish followers were baptized by the Apostles that day and proclaimed their belief in Jesus Christ. Just like that, the Christain Church grew 30 fold. From just over one hundred and thirty to an added 3,000 members in one day. That’s the power of the Holy Spirit at work. But the Holy Spirit did not do this alone. It took a human element, and that was in the form of Peter standing up as the leader among the Apostles and giving a stirring speech alluding to prophecies of old and the promise of the new. The Holy Spirit still needs that human element to work and help spread the life changing miracle that is following Jesus Christ.
Reading plan: Acts 3
Deeper reading plan: Ezra 5, 6
Prayer and meditation: Pray for the sick, pray for the lost and their loved ones. Pray for redemption for this lost world. Pray for a reviving rattle to shake COVID off this planet. And continue to pray for all those in medical professions, grocery stores, supply chain operators, first responders, and the amazing teachers still doing all they can to teach the students they love so much.
Fitness challenge: Rest and recover!
Worship and praise: I hope that the physical church is reopened today. Until then, continue to tune into one of these amazing church services listed above!
