24”Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”(Matthew 7:24-27)
Yesterday was a heavy message. I hope it sunk deep. There will be many days where I will challenge you to pause and take a deeper look at yourself. This devotional is meant to be life changing, and to do so, you have to know what you need to change in your life. As the passage above states, what kind of foundation have you built your life on? Is it built on sin and sand? Or is your life built on the rock of Jesus’s word? There will be many days ahead where we reference foundations and buildings and rocks, but today, think about the foundation your life has been built on. If it’s not built on Jesus’s principles, maybe you need a complete rebuild. Maybe it’s time to call in the wrecking crew and do a total demolition and rebuild from the ground up. Let Jesus be the one who wrecks you. Let the love of Jesus destroy your past and help rebuild your future brick-by-brick, day-by-day. It’s never too late to start over. Never too late to close the book on the old you, and begin to read something more rewarding, more refreshing, more everlasting. You will have to walk away from most of the temptations of the world, but you will not be walking away from the world. Build your life on the rock that is Jesus and you will truly see the world for the first time ever. Build your life so you seek to be in the world and not of the world. You can be a game changer, no matter where this finds you in your journey on earth, you can still take your time here to make this world a better place, day-by-day, brick-by-brick.
