End of Days, Part 2
4Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.” (Matthew 27:4-8)
I will never forget the moment I learned the US had bombed Iranian’s nuclear facilities on Saturday, June 21. I was holding the rear perimeter of a residence where we had a barricaded suspect who had thrown his girlfriend to the ground and “allegedly” threatened to harm her even more. The suspect was smart to keep the doors shut and was only screaming at the police from the inside. He would only open the front door when he was sure no one was close enough to rip the screen door open and force their way in, whether he wanted to talk to police or not. It was in our patrol officer’s initial response, while I was on the backside of the house, attempting to coax the man to step out on the back porch so he could tell us his side of the story, that another officer shared the news of America bombing Iran with the simple statement “We just bombed Iran”. She had received an alert on her smartwatch. Suddenly the problems of a foolish woman who allowed a strange man to move into her home seemed pretty insignificant. We all stayed focused and the officers on scene did a fantastic job of getting in the house and safely placing the man under arrest. It was all quite silly because he was only charged with misdemeanor crimes, but we were able to remove him from the residence and give the woman some temporary peace back in her life. However, peace around the world was shattered as trump chose the offensive over diplomacy.
There is a lot of misinformation being put out there in our 24/7 news cycle about the reason for “Operation Midnight Hammer“, the success of the operation, and if America is at war with Iran. Our president claims that he was saving the world, by disabling Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites, due to Iran being on the precipice of building a nuclear bomb (even though our National Intelligence Director, Tulsi Gabbard, had testified earlier in the year that Iran was not building a bomb). Trump has been bragging about the US Air Force’s precision strikes, however, the satellite images of the Fordow enrichment site after the bunker bombs hit can easily make anyone with an ounce of common-sense question how successful the operation was. I mean, I am no expert on nuclear enrichment operations, but I would think that the giant, white building that prominently sits at the site would have been an important target to destroy if you truly wanted to set the Iranians back. But as you can see in the before and after image below, the trump administration (at this point) has no idea of how successful their dangerous operation was.
So, on Saturday, I thought by today, Iran would be soliciting a response from their few allies in the world to attack America and Israel after the two bullies of the world teamed up to attack Iran under the same rouse Republicans dupped America back in 2003 with Iraq: the classic “weapons of mass destruction” gimmick to justify their war-mongering. Just as Republicans did two decades ago, this administration cannot provide proof of what led them to authorize this operation. JD Vance told “Meet the Press”: “I certainly empathize with Americans who are exhausted after 25 years of foreign entanglements in the Middle East,” he told Welker on Sunday. “I understand the concern, but the difference is that back then, we had dumb presidents, and now we have a president who actually knows how to accomplish America’s national security objectives.” And no, I did not make that up. You read that right, Vance called former President Bush and VP Dick Cheney “dumb presidents”. The pot calling the kettle black. If former President Bush and VP Cheney were “dumb” then there really is no way to label the ignorance in the White House right now. Oh, what I would give to go back to that era and their leadership (mostly because I would know that in a few years the world would enter 8 years of hope with the election of our last decent President). I think the best person to explain why donald trump chose this moment to strike Iran, is 2013 donald trump, when he was just a pathetic, horrible businessman and constantly attempting to troll President Obama:
As I wrote the other day, trump’s poll numbers continue to get worse. Last Saturday, many Americans demonstrated that they reject trump’s regime during the “No Kings” nationwide protests. Exactly a week later, trump displayed his desperation by authorizing America to be plunged into a war with Iran. It is always important to know how America gets itself involved in foreign conflicts. Of interest in Aljazeera’s article is that in (1957) Atoms for Peace: The shah’s ambitions for a nuclear-powered Iran gained support from the US and other Western allies. Both countries signed a nuclear agreement for the civilian use of nuclear power as part of then-US President Dwight D Eisenhower’s Atoms for Peace programme. A decade later, the US provided Iran with a nuclear reactor and uranium to fuel it. The nuclear collaboration forms the basis for the current nuclear question.
I think I have rambled on enough for the time being. I hope I shared something new with y’all on these unfolding global events. I opened with the words of Jesus today to remind us that Jesus predicted all of this, that we would see wars and rumors of war. The important guidance for dealing with this bleak future is to not be alarmed. Ensure that you are always ready for the return of the bridegroom and you will have nothing to fear. I encourage you all to pray for peace. Or pray that this is truly the beginning of the End of Days, so we can wrap this circus up sooner than later.
