Common Sense REBORN Daily Devotion

Back to America

3One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. 4People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?” (Revelation 13:3-4)

Good morning fam. I am coming off a somewhat busy weekend working for Savannah PD. The city was relatively calm, just the normal domestic disturbances, burglaries, and small criminal element. However, our department remains critically short, so even without any major incidents, officers are still jumping from call to call, covering down on other precincts to fill beats, and struggling to keep our morale high. However, there was a relative peace around the city. Both Saturday and Sunday, with the spring weather being almost perfect (ten degrees cooler would have been nice) many people were out and about. I am not sure if this peace, that passed understanding, came from the fact that, for once, the world was collectively lifting up a man whose life accurately reflected Jesus Christ. As the world mourned the sudden loss of Pope Francis, all media outlets were focused on the good this Holy man had brought into the world. His focus on helping the poor, standing up for God’s creation, and lifting the name of Jesus high, might have caused people to stop and consider their actions, and, hopefully, attempt to live their life in the shadow of such greatness.

But back in America, we continue to be led by the “beast” referenced in the Book of Revelation. I have developed a somewhat unhealthy addiction to keeping up with the daily news updates from The MeidasTouch, who continue to keep their gloves off, and their “elbows up”, when providing the truth that is unfolding in American politics right now. Unfortunately, for sharing purposes, most of the content I listen to is from their podcasts only, so I cannot simply share a YouTube video, as I usually do. However, I can insert their most recent podcast below, which has PLENTY of content to help open your ears, and your eyes, to.

The Beast, who just reached his first 100 days back in office, continues to run America into the ground. Just this morning I opened the news to learn that he is rolling back the dignified act of recognizing “Columbus Day” from “Indigenous People’s Day” back to solely being focused on the genocidal explorer Christopher Columbus. The Beast felt like recognizing Indigenous People, along with Columbus, painted a tarnished picture of the historic explorer. No, what it did was paint an accurate picture of what Columbus did. The Beast continues to be scared of the truth, because he can not tell anything but lies. He is currently trying to distract his base by now claiming that his “beautiful tariffs” are bringing in so much money that he may be able to eliminate the federal income tax. That is a lie. The Beast stated that his tariffs would bring in $2 billion a day in revenue from the US, but so far, the tariffs have only generated a total of $192 million. And now, America’s largest exporter, China has begun to hold shipments to the US, as The Guardian reports that expected shipments to Westcoast ports are scheduled to be down by a third from this time last year.

But, I will admit, that these first 100 days have not been as bad as I expected him too. Do not get me wrong, they have been utterly terrible, but before the election, I truly feared that America would be setting up concentration camps for illegal immigrants, rounding up political activists that speak against the Beast, and beginning to amass troops on the Canadian Border. All of these are still very real possibilities, but they have not become reality. Yet. The Beast has the lowest current approval rating of any American President in the last 40 years, being only more horrible than himself, in his first term. The Beast has attacked illegal immigrants, even deporting a two-year old child (but continues to deport far fewer illegal immigrants than President Biden was doing in a dignified and legal way). He unfairly slashed Federal workers jobs, destroyed diversity programs to reinstate a white-supremacist ideology, all while the prices of commodities in the US continue to be high (which was expected, but I only mention it because the Beast swore to bring the price of groceries down significantly on “Day 1”). Speaking of “Day 1”, the Beast also arrogantly, and ignorantly, stated that he would end Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine within 24 hours (which he is far from accomplishing), and do I need to remind you of how despicable his treatment to President Zelensky was in the Oval Office. Only now, as putin continues to murder innocent people, are the Beast’s deranged social media posts shifting to a realization of how horrible this war is, as the Beast pleads for putin to “stop”. Well, maybe if we went back to actually supporting Ukraine in their three-year war against Russia, instead of trying to extort the Ukrainians for their resources, Russia would stop.

So, while the world celebrated Pope Francis, who championed for the poor, the environment, for Christ; we in America, still have a large, manipulated, misguided population supporting a leader who champions for billionaires, seeks to destroy the environment, and stands for everything Christ spoke out against (while claiming to be a “champion of Christianity”). This is why I am convinced, this Beast is the Beast from Revelation, and I hope I am accurate in that prediction. Because that means Jesus is coming back soon. And that is all I want. Just Jesus.

It may seem like all I am doing on here is venting, which I am. This platform is my therapy, the only thing keeping me sane in these crazy times. However, just complaining without presenting any action is not beneficial for anyone. I am working on putting something more constructive out here to help guide readers in ways they can make a difference in the communities around them. My greatest recommendation is to get out at the local level and help lift up your local communities. We need to address the issues in our cities and towns, and then shift our focus to state levels, then national, and finally tackle the global issues plaguing the world. Start small, end big, and through it all, keep Christ as the plumbline. I believe in miracles, and the miraculous work the hands and feet of Christ’s humble servants can complete. Let’s continue to be the miracle the world so desperately needs right now.
