Daniel, Part 4, Advice for the King
27“King Nebuchadnezzar, please accept my advice. Stop sinning and do what is right. Break from your wicked past and be merciful to the poor. Perhaps then you will continue to prosper.” (Daniel 4:27)
A little back-story on the verse above. Chapter Four of the Book of Daniel tells the story of King Nebuchadnezzar’s next dream of a tree in the middle of earth that grew “very tall and strong, reaching high into the heavens for all the world to see” (Daniel 4:11). A messenger from heaven warns Nebuchadnezzar to chop down the tree and bound the stump with iron and bronze. The messenger from heaven continues to warn Nebuchadnezzar that an individual would have the “mind of a wild animal” for “seven periods of time” (Daniel 4:16). Daniel tells the King that this is God’s warning for him to humble himself and turn to the God of Daniel, or Nebuchadnezzar would be pushed from the thrown and driven to madness. In the verse above, Daniel shares one last warning for King Nebuchadnezzar, “stop sinning and do what is right”, break from his “wicked past and be merciful to the poor”. The king would refuse to heed Daniel’s advice, and the dream would come true as the king finds himself driven to madness in the wilderness and his son ascending to the throne of Babylon.
America is under the control of a new, self-declared “king”. The same warning for King Nebuchadnezzar is being laid at the Oval Office, and God will only tolerate so much injustice before He steps in and punishes the world for their support of the evils America’s current president is dishing out daily. I truly believe God did this when COVID struck the world after four years of allowing hate and discrimination to grow under trump’s first term. I could sit here and list all the current wrongs our president is doing, easily, like his constant lying to the public; the DOGE firing fiascos; throwing the US in cahoots with Russia, North Korea, Belarus, and Syria to vote ‘no’ against the latest UN resolution to end Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine; DOGE’s fabrication of how much it is actually saving America; etc., etc. But I do not need to really go into that much detail for my faithful readers, you obviously have enough common sense to see the truth of who is sitting at what was once the most powerful political position in the world.
But if you, for some odd reason, you continue to disregard all the teachings of Jesus Christ and support a man who has done everything anti-Christ since returning to power, don’t take my word for it. Instead, you can click here and read one of the many articles written by Reverend Benjamin Cremer, who uses his social media footprint to call out the daily hypocrisy of our twisted Christian Nationalism. And if that does not help open your eyes, maybe you just need to see trump’s recent post on his Truth platform for his plans for the Gaza strip, where an AI generated video shows a massive golden statue of trump at the center of “Trump Gaza”. Literally, trump is copying the sins of Nebuchadnezzar right in front of our faces, yet so many Christians continue to line up to bow down to him as he plays his favorite anthem “YMCA”. Well, I side with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendego: I bow down to God and Jesus alone. And I am willing to walk into the furnace before bowing down and not speaking against the hypocrisy that comes with supporting the evils of trump. I know who will be in the fire with me: Elohim, the God who goes before me, will be waiting to keep me safe. As I mentioned last post, which furnace are you walking toward: the one burning the world down around us, or the one that is burning from the righteous anger of the only true King?
