The Line Has Been Drawn

28“They are fat and sleek, and there is no limit to their wicked deeds. They refuse to provide justice to orphans and deny the rights of the poor. 29Should I not punish them for this,” says the LORD. “Should I not avenge myself against such a nation? 30A horrible and shocking thing has happened in this land-the prophets give false prophecies, and the priests rule with an iron hand. Worse yet, my people like it that way! But what will YOU DO WHEN THE END COMES.” (Jeremiah 5:28-31)

I love the snow. Until I deployed to Poland last year, my experience with the snow was short. planned vacations. I never lived through a real winter, until my nine-months in Eastern Europe, which stretched from September to May. But even that was very controlled. I did get some good experience driving in snowy conditions, so when a once in a decade snowstorm dropped nearly four inches of snow in the Savannah area, I had no issues driving my Police SUV through the conditions.

Savannah in the snow was a beautiful sight to see. However, for a city with no ability to melt the ice on the roadways, the last two days of working as a Patrol Officer have been a little challenging. Surprisingly, the day after the snow fell (Tuesday night), the majority of the city followed local officials’ warnings about not driving. For many people in the south, they have never driven in such conditions a day in their life. Then each night, the temperatures dropped below freezing and everything became even deadlier, as what was melting refroze and became even slicker than the first night. Even leaving for work was an overlooked challenge as I did not give myself proper time to scrap the four inches of snow and ice off my SUV. With no ice scrapper to clear the thick bottom layer of ice off my windshield (ten minutes of running the defrost on high had done little to help), I was grabbing pots of warm water to melt the ice to a level where I could use some makeshift scrappers to clear my windshield and get on the road. Needless to say, I was a little late to work, which was expected and excused for all the incoming officers facing the unique challenge of learning how to drive in the snow for the first time. Pictures of the south covered in snow are all over the internet, from Charleston to Pensacola, major cities saw snow for the first time in a very long time, some areas breaking previous records from a century ago.

The cold in the south was nothing compared to the chilly reception of our current President when he was called out by the bravest Bishop in America right now. If you have not seen Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde’s call to the President to “show mercy” on those in America that trump has taken an unprecedented campaign to attack, well I am posting it below so you can watch it now.

Over the last three days, since this was shared for the world to witness, one of the social media influencers I follow made the accurate statement below (this is paraphrased as it was shared in an Instagram Story and is no longer available):

“Bishop Budde’s address to President trump showed the clear line of being a merciful, loving follower of Christ, or being a follower of the president. The line in America has been drawn, you are either a follower of Christ, or a follower of trump. You cannot be both.”

I made a similar statement in my last post. Whatever slimmer of hope that our returning president would actually be a Christian leader (as he claims to be) has melted away faster than the Pensacola beach snow. His agenda is clear. It did not take me long to find the next collection of verses in the Book of Jeremiah that shout out relevance to this day (I only had to turn the page). Our “fat and sleek” Commander-in-Chief has “no limits to (his) evil deeds”. Those that claim to be prophets and support the actions of this administration are indeed false prophets. The priests who have stood at their pulpits and attempted to relate this man’s anti-foreigner agenda are speaking against the anointed Word of God. And worse yet, so-called Christians across America “like it that way”. So I ask you now: what will YOU do WHEN THE END COMES? Because it is coming, and it is coming soon.

You were born for a time such as this. Were you born just to die, or were you born to rise?
