2024 Year-In-Review: Part 2/2

8“The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)

In my last post, I promised a Year-In-Review recap for all America faced through the year. I had planned to do a total of three posts for a short YIR series, but I never had the opportunity to sit down and type something up until right now. And now we are two days into 2025, and I do not want to spend any more time looking back on 2024. It is time to look ahead toward the future, and what we can do to ensure that the Spirit of God is alive, and the accurate message of Jesus is preached around the world. As Isaiah recorded God’s word in his prophecies, the grass wither and the flowers will fade, but the word of our God stands forever.

In 2025, are you going to stand upon the word of God? That eternal promise of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. Will you be seeking ways to help the poor, the widow, and the orphan? Will you be doing your part to share the Good News of Jesus’ love, mercy, and grace? Will you stand against the false prophets and denounce their hypocrisy? Will you fight the good fight? Run the race to righteousness?

Those are some tough questions to consider. But if 2024 taught us anything, it was that we have tough times ahead. Even at the very end of the year, as we lost President Jimmy Carter and witnessed another horrific terrorist attack, we are reminded how fragile the lives we live are. Any moment, any day, any year may be our last here on this side of eternity. I hope you are lining up your affairs here on earth to see the promise of tomorrow.

I do not know how often I will be able to put together posts in the coming year. I will do my best to put material together as much as possible, but I have learned that I can not guarantee my time on here, so I will not be making any more false promises with extended series. I wish you all a blessed New Year. I pray the Holy Spirit ignites a passion in your hearts and soul in the coming year to grow the church, spread the Gospel, and stand for everything Jesus commanded us to stand for.

In closing, while I did not do my normal countdown to my top songs of 2024, I will share my top five singles now. It was an incredible year of Christian Music. I am thoroughly looking forward to 2025 to see how the CCM artists top the work they released over the last 12 months.

#5: Feels To Be Free; Steve Malcom featuring Sanctus Real

#4: NEVER GET USED TO THIS: Forrest Frank (Frank’s album, CHILD OF GOD, was by far the best Christian Hip-Hop album of 2024)

#3: -Dash: Crowder

#2: GOODBYE YESTERDAY: ELEVATION RHYTHM, Gracie Binion This song is easily the anthem to start any new year.

#1: That’s Who I Praise: Brandon Lake (Lake’s live version of TEAR OFF THE ROOF tour from Charleston was my favorite album of the year). The video below remains one of the best music videos produced by any Christian Artists as the main focus is not the artist, but dozens of Jesus-loving fans singing this wonderful song of praise.
