Rescue from the Madness
1Declare me innocent, O God!
Defend me against these ungodly people.
Rescue me from these unjust liars. (Psalms 43:1)
With only eight days left to vote, I cannot waste this platform for anything other than to talk about the importance of this election. All jokes aside today, I will not be sharing any satire comedy from late night comedy shows, because what is happening in America is losing its comedic appeal as we get closer to the unfathomable: trump returning to the seat of the presidency of the United States.
Vice President Kamala Harris and trump held rallies over the weekend, and the press coverage and photos could not be any clearer of the differences between the two. VP Harris was in Philadelphia visiting a barbershop, a youth basketball team, and attending a church service at the Church of Christian Compassion. Pictures of her from AP News shows a woman full of joy, holding a baby, hugging a lady who looks like a sweet grandmother, sitting down with men of color in a barbershop. Meanwhile, in the next state over, donald trump held his biggest rally to date at the iconic Madison Square Garden. It was so full of vulgarity and racial slurs that trump’s biggest fanbase, Fox News, does not even have any articles on the rally on their homepage today. It prompted the political correspondent for Esquire magazine to write an opinion piece where he compared trump’s rally on Sunday to the American-Nazi rally of 1939 that was held in the same venue. If you have clicked on any refutable news sites today, you most likely have seen articles written about the current collection of colorful comments from trump’s team.
While seeing Hulk Hogan come out wearing a pink boa and giving his support for trump just makes me chuckle, I would not be wasting my time writing another post about the importance of this election if it was not so close. In my commonsense mind, it should not even be anywhere close. But the devil is at work every day and motivating division throughout this country. So, if you have not voted yet, get out and vote. This is the most important election I have ever seen in my 43 years on this earth. Click the links within this article to see the difference: joy and hope, verses division and doom. The choice is yours to make. For the next eight days, I am going to be spending as much time as possible in Prayer and a Bible.
