Shifting Focus Part 4
33“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.“ (Matthew 6:33)
This week we have been shifting our focus from the naive perspective that America is the greatest country in the world to ways that we could honestly improve as a nation. After spending eight months in Poland, I saw the stark difference between that country and America. Beginning with pointing out Poland’s aggressive push for renewable energy, to shifting our focus to the commonsense gun ownership measures the Poles have in place, these are just two ways that Poland soars above the States. Today I want to focus on another aspect of that great country, one that I have written about repeatedly during my time in the country. And that is their Kingdom work.
From my first day in Poland, as we traveled from Poznan to Boleslawiec, I quickly noticed that this small Eastern European Country was an unapologetically Christian nation. At the border to every town that we drove through was a cross or a monument to a Saint. But their devotion to Christianity did not end with just altars built to bring remembrance to the Kingdom. Poland also strongly observes the Sabbath (at least in smaller towns such as Boleslawiec). On Sundays, almost every business was closed as they observed a day of worship. The only places we found open were restaurants and gas stations. Boleslawiec also put on impressive celebrations for Christmas, Easter, and every major Holy Day. Poland, respectfully, claims that 89% of its citizens are practicing Christians, with 90% being Roman Catholic. They are a country that actively seeks the Kingdom of God above all else, and for that reason alone, I believe this is why they seek to protect God’s creation (the planet) by pushing for renewable energy and may be a leading cause to why crime is so low in the country.
By contrast, America is seeing a critical decline in those who either practice religion or those that believe in God at all. This article from Psychology Today summarizes all the dangers America faces as it marches forward to be more of an agnostic country. I recommend you read through the whole article to see for yourself.
So how do we help mold America into being a truly Christian Nation for the first time in our existence? Well, it starts with us as individuals. If you have never read the Good Book in its entirety, that is the first step. You cannot expect to ask others to do something you, yourself, are not willing to do. If you need a guide, I have provided a nine-month reading plan that is available by clicking here. I would love to send a copy to you, all you would need to do is message me here on the contact page. Reading the Holy Bible in its entirety is just the first step in your Kingdom Work journey. Next, you need to find a local church to worship at, build fellowship, and begin to discover outreach opportunities to serve those around you. And, finally, the last part is to spread the Gospel! We need to save this country from slipping further and further away from God and bring America to know a lasting relationship with the Lord. The time has never been more crucial. Save yourself, then save the world. There is No One Like The Lord, and we need to show this country that, and open the eyes of America once and for all.
