Start the Party Part 2
9‘Now go out to the street corners and invite everyone you see.’ (Matthew 22:9)
Kids Camp Day 2! We recently wrapped up our second day of “Kids Camp“, our home church‘s version of Vacation Bible School. We had our biggest day for Laser Tag, as we had ten groups of 12-13 kids cycle through the room (well, we only had six, and the other Laser Tag room had four). We made some adjustments from yesterday to give the kids a better area to stay while waiting for their turn in the rooms. It seemed to be much more enjoyable for the kids and the small group leaders (although reigning them in from rooms full of fun games was a bit harder than we expected).
After cleaning up the rooms and “Drop Zones”, Mrs. Z and I snuck into the church’s large worship auditorium to watch the Kid’s Bible Lesson. Today, the kids learned the “Parable of the Wedding Dinner”, where Jesus told a parable about a King who threw a big party. For the youngsters, they leaders focused on the verse above, where the King tells his servants to go out and invite everyone they see to the party. The lesson for the children is they should invite any, and every, one to their party, especially those who are usually left out. It was a great lesson to add onto yesterday’s message, that we should throw a party to tell others about Jesus. Now we know who to invite: EVERYONE.

As promised yesterday, here is a new, upbeat Christian song to add to your party playlist.
